Menorca in May

The perfect holiday destination for families. Short (regional) flights, beautiful coves and clear seas and small, family friendly resorts. Smaller than Majorca and less noisy than Ibiza, Menorca is the perfect location for a family holiday, not least because of it’s fantastic coastline, with more beaches than the other Balearic islands put together. With its laid back atmosphere, quaint fishing harbours and white washed buildings, Menorca has many unspoilt areas and also enjoys spectacular scenery – including a fabulous unspoilt and undeveloped coastline dotted with small, shallow coves with soft, pale sand and crystal, turquoise seas.

Where we're staying

Our hotel is in Cala’n Bosch, a lovely resort set on the soutwest coast of Menorca. A relaxed, child-friendly location with glorious whitewashed villas, quaint sandy beaches and shallow waves perfect for little ones. The marina is less than a minute away, with shops, bars and restaurants just a few minutes further, an ideal place for lunch and a stroll in the sun. Menorca really does enjoy the kinds of scenery postcards are made of! Cuidadela, the island’s capital, is well worth a visit. An impressive mix of Moorish buildings and medieval architecture, the maze of quaint, cobbled streets are home to numerous tapas bars, cafes, boutiques, and the beautiful 13th century cathedral.

This holiday runs over the half term Spring Bank Holiday from Saturday 28th May , returning on Saturday, June 4th,

What's included

This is an all inclusive holiday – your flights, transfers to resort and all meals and drinks are included in the cost.

The all-inclusive package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.  An unlimited amount of hot, soft and alcoholic drinks (local brands). A small number of cocktails per day are also available. The drinks are available for a minimum of 12 hours per day.

All rooms (studios or apartments) have air conditioning, hair dryer, and a kitchenette with fridge, sink, electric rings and kettle). Bathroom and balcony.

The cost of the holiday is based on group flights from London, this helps keep the prices reasonable. Because the world and his wife want to travel out on this weekend, flight prices can rocket and  this means supplements for regional airports can be excessively high. In most cases it would be cheaper to grab a train and an airport hotel at Gatwick.  Naturally if you’d still prefer to fly from a regional airport, do get in touch and we can work out the prices accordingly, you can contact us at

Transfer time from the airport – approximately 90 minutes.

Things to Do

Menorca is a laid back, Mediterranean location – but with plenty to keep you occupied for a week .  Cuitadela is a great place to spend an afternoon, marvelling at the sights, searching for souvenirs or simply enjoying the Mediterranean lifestyle sipping coffee by the harbour, watching the world go by. Aqua parks are always a popular choice with the children of all ages, visit local towns. The weather in May is just perfect for bike hire or horse riding. Boat trips are a great way to enjoy this fabulous scenery or, for older children how about go-karting for a bit of holiday adrenaline.  You certainly won’t be short of options and our coordinator will pull together an itinerary that makes it a holiday full of fun, friendship and fond memories.

The prices below are based on our group flights from London Gatwick, which were bought at a good rate. Please email us at for information.

What do our single parents think of our holidays? Take a look below for testimonials from holidaymakers who've been on overseas trips with us..

Lincoln & Emily 8 - (Menorca 2015)

" The hotel Sol Falco was very good with a great atmosphere and plenty of activities, fun places but also quiet places. There were different swimming pools and the rooms were of a good quality and clean. All staff were helpful. The food was very good with a good variety that changed daily. Sarah the coordinator was fantastic and really made the holiday special with a great combination of organisation and friendliness. All of the other people in the group were very friendly and great to spend time with. The kids got on very well together and it was great that they had instant friends to play with from day one and that friendship grew as the holiday progressed. "

Julie, Charlotte 17, Samuel 14 - (Menorca 2015)

" This was our second SWK holiday and we had a fabulous time. Our coordinator Sarah couldn't have done more. My daughter has physical and learning disabilities and every consideration was taken to include her in the group activities. The other parents and children were a delight and we've come home knowing we've made lovely new friends. "

Neil, Thomas 7 & Lily 7 - (Menorca 2015)

" Fantastic holiday as our first time with SWK and our first time abroad. "

Melissa & Rudyard 7 - (Menorca 2015)

" Sarah was so amazing in integrating us into the group and planning really fun and sweetly detailed trips that it was packed and happy. We loved the boat trip, zipping off the slide into the clear sea and the beach evening, which Sarah accented with little lanterns as it got dark. Sarah and Jay are stand out hosts; warm, fun, caring and really there for the group. "

Susan, Timothy 5, Alexander 3 - (Menorca 2015)

" It was our first trip. I feel I had a holiday and definitely saw the sunshine, but as to be expected with a 3 and a 5 year old, it was exhausting. The people on the trip were very supportive indeed, and lovely. I can't say I even had a moment to open a book/magazine/listen to music but I enjoyed the social aspect of speaking to other adults in similar positions to myself. The boys absolutely loved it which was excellent. "

Paul & Anwyn 11 - (Menorca 2015)

" Goes to the top of my best holiday ever list. "

Sandra & Ana 10 - (Menorca 2015)

" Once again, I cannot praise Sarah (and Jay!) enough. It was clear that it really mattered to her that we enjoyed our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble and she genuinely 'went the extra mile'. For example, researching the horse-riding for my daughter for the change-over day when there wouldn't be an organised activity! And she honestly did not have to get up at 6.30am to see us off ... but she did! "
