Where better to spend the Halloween weekend than in the heart of the enchanting National Forest? Join us for a frighteningly fun, great value single parents break in fantastic eco-accommodation, with a world of outdoor pursuits right on the doorstep.
Our Halloween holiday is a walker’s and cyclist’s paradise, and there’s plenty of all ages to enjoy in this unique location. We’re planning a few spooky surprises too, including an epic Halloween party – so don’t forget your fancy dress!
We’re staying in the heart of the National Forest, a beautiful area and part of an ambitious project to plant miles of new forest right in the centre of England. It’s very handy for local activities too, with the popular 5.7km Ashby Trail nearby and the Conkers indoor-outdoor adventure centre practically right next door.
Look forward to spending your days keeping up with the kids, and your evenings making what could turn out to be lifelong friendship in the cosy bar.
This is a 2 night break in the October half-term holidays, arriving on Friday 28th October and leaving on Sunday 30th October
We’re spending the weekend in Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, only a few miles from Burton-upon-Trent.
This special location is right in the heart of the National Forest, an environmental project which aims to plant over 200 square miles to blend ancient woodland with new forest.
This trip has something for single parents and kids of all ages to enjoy, as there are lots of activities available nearby.

Read what other single parents thought of our National Forest Holiday;
" This was our first SWK holiday. We had the most fantastic welcome from the two Linda’s who worked tirelessly throughout the holiday. Everyone gelled so well and the children had the most amazing time. On Sun/Mon groups of us went out and about so there was no pressure to participate if you didn’t want to. Conkers was a superb attraction to visit. "
" This exceeded my expectations. The accommodation was amazing as was the food. The group was super friendly and the activities that Linda and Linda organised brought people together in a gentle but non pushy way. The SWK holidays are an amazing idea. Thank you – you have revolutioned my idea of holidays for the foreseeable future… "
" Had a fantastic time, both myself and the kids loved it. The kids even the eldest one (Jack 14) loved the Easter activities especially the Easter egg hunt and the sweet hunt!!! We all enjoyed the trip to Conkers and extended our last day by visiting Twycross zoo. Very tired kids and mum!! Both co- ordinators were very helpful and friendly, instantly felt part of the group when I arrived. The activities they had arranged were fun and appealed to all ages – which was a hard job when the age range was 2-14. We had a great time and would love to come back. Met loads of lovely parents and children and made some good friends. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Would have liked the karaoke on both days, but understand it’s not to everyone’s taste. Great, great holiday – keep doing what you are already doing – hope to see you all soon. "
