I have to admit I had to look at googlemaps to find out where Elgin was! The nearest place I've heard of is Findhorn. Oh, and my parents have friends in Buckie.

We shall be up that way on our Grand Tour in the summer, on our way to Orkney.

Hiya, I'm in Renfrewshire.

Probably wont be able to go on trips because although they look good fun they are quite a distance and I don't drive.

Hi All

Just posted this in the South Lanarkshire link, so thought I'd post here too...

Hi There,

Not sure if anyone is still checking this thread .. only just found out about the website.  I'm Glasgow based and looking to meet single parents in Scotland for days out etc.  Would eventually like to make it away for weekends with other single parents - Love camping... just not sure how brave I would be when the weather getrs warmer with a 1 year old in tow... am sure its a piece of cake.

If anyone is interested in maybe attending a day trip / meetup somewhere in the near future in Scotland let me know

Happy New Year to all!!
RHG.

Think this posting has fallen by the wayside a bit as no one seems to post anything on here anymore!!

Hi, I'm from Aberdeenshire and just discovered this site while looking for 'Single Parent Holidays'.  The holidays and days out sound great but there doesn't seem to be many people on the site from Aberdeen.  It would be great to hear from anyone in this area.

Please feel free to get in touch.

Carol :)

This will probabaly never be read but hey nothing ventured......

I'm a newly single mum to 3 boys, aged 14,13 and 7. We live in Glenrothes just now, but are moving to Burntisland in Fife in the next few weeks.
Would love to hear from other single parents in the area.
Am thinking about a holiday - any suggestions?

Hi D,
Definitely read...!

Holiday suggestions....where would I start? It really depends whether you're looking for home or abroad, a larger trip or smaller event, shared accommodation or private rooms. One of our New Year events will be in the Lake District this year, that could be a good start, especially if it's your first Christmas alone. Our calendar for next year will start appearing on site over the next few months, hopefully there'll be something there to tempt you too.

As for Scottish members, we don't have so many using the forum but do have a number who go on the holidays - hopefully you'll get to meet some at some stage.

Silky x

I'm Lesley, newly single mum to two little monkeys age 8 and 3. We are in the Renfreshire area.

Finding that I had spent way to many years commited to my ex with no social circle. So here I am today joining the site and looking to make some new mates for me and the boys.

Look forward to some good old chin wags x

I am a Single Parent, with 2 excellent Kids, I lost my Mother to Cancer 9 weeks ago, and 1 Week after I split with my 13year relationship with my Partner, during my Relationship, I was controlled mentally, therfore I had to give up all my Friends, and choose him over my family, need to get out, feeling isolated, and very down, wondering if there is any single parent groups in Glasgow.....x

So sorry to hear your story Yvonne - to have such a tragic bereavement and a relationship breakdown in such a short time is devastating.   It sounds like you're probably better out of your relatoinship though, hopefully you'll soon rebuild your network up again x
