Anyone from Loughborough?
« on: November 02, 2011, 09:13:54 PM »
Hi,
I'm 4 months into the divorce process and find myself sadly lacking in single friends!  I have great family close by and my kids are happy, but I'd love to get to know more people who've been through the same experience as me.
I'm in a village near Loughborough and wondered if anyone was nearby who might fancy becoming an email pal with a view to nights out etc?
My kids are 5 (girl, nearly 6) and 4 (boy)
Laura x

Hi Laura,
I'm in Coventry and have a 9yr old boy, Loughborough is about 35 miles away I think so I will be going to some Midlands events when they come up.  I only joined this site yesterday so whatever I go along to will be my first visit and I'm looking forward to meeting new people.
Best wishes,
Beki

me.

:)

Hi Laura, and welcome.

I'm in Loughborough, and as Mand said, we had a BBQ a few weeks ago (and another earlier this year) in Beacon Park.   We also went bowling in Derby this last half-term, and there have been various meets in this area (Leicester, Nottingham, Derby & Loughborough) over the last couple of years.

Vickicb is also from Loughborough, but she's not been on the forum for a couple of months.

Hiya Laura and welcome to the site, I'm Phil but haven't been on the site for a while.  I'm next door to you in Leicester so not too far away, I've two boys (16 & 13yrs).

Hiya,
Thanks for all the replies!  I'll definitely keep my eye out for meets then.  I tend to read posts but not put many on.  I'm feeling ok since my separation, obviously have my moments.  Thanks x

Laura, just jump in on the posts, the site is a great way to make new friends and to get any advice you may need, or just an ear to listen.  Try to make the bbq events (or any other) that Mand arranges as they are good fun, great for the kids to meet new friends and for you to be able to enjoy yourself with people who know what you are going through.  The great thing with SWK meets is that all parents (and even older kids) keep an eye on smaller children.

Mand said recently she was going to organise a get-together, but I've not heard anything more.  I think she's just trying to find out the dates that Phil can't make.

Hello, ive just joined this site, but i live in loughborough near the train station. I have a 3 year old girl and we really need to make friends. I work in the week but we get in at 515 ish and would love to drop by a new frind for a cuppa or welcome you to us. I finish early on a weds and go to mini monsters at 4 or park if its nice. We are always at a loss on a weekend afternoon. Would be happy to share baby sitting, play dates and all things a mate would do. Our only really local friend and my daughters play mate have just moved away.
