My Late Father & Thanks to Silky
« on: September 05, 2010, 09:30:13 PM »
My father passed away on the 2nd of September, just a few years ago.  He was only 66 years of age and although he was an old-fashioned sort of father who was very tough and strict (any excuse for a good spanking yo keep us in line!), he was a well-meaning father who just wanted his sons to grow up into moral and upstanding individuals.  Although he was from the generation that would never hug their son's (it just wasn't the done thing) and I always sought his approval as a result, I know he cared and loved me.

It's always around this time of year when I think about him and feel a little low at his departure.  Silky was there when I received the call in the morning of his passing and I just wanted to thank her on this forum, for her being an unwavering source of comfort and my very best friend.  She was always there for me, both during his demise and afterwards, when I needed a shoulder to cry on.

Rest in Peace dad & thank you Chrissie, for being a friend of the highest calibre.

That made me cry, my keyboard has gone all blurry...

Very lovely gesture Richard and my sympathies go to you and your family x x x
