Perllanau Gwent (Gwent Orchards) Project

Part-time (3 days/week), 2 year fixed term contract
Gwent Wildlife Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to lead our Perllanau Gwent (Gwent Orchards) Project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Project aims to conserve and restore traditional orchards across Gwent by carrying out detailed surveys and mapping, and by encouraging and supporting individuals and community groups in caring for their orchard heritage.
Applicants will need at least 2 years relevant experience, with a sound understanding of ecology and natural heritage. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to inspire and enthuse a wide range of people are also required, along with a commitment to wildlife conservation. Knowledge of orchards and their ecology is also desirable.
The post will be based at Gwent Wildlife Trust offices in Dingestow near Monmouth, but the post holder will be expected to travel throughout Gwent. The post is based within the Wider Environment team.
