Although we try and put as much information as possible on our holiday pages, if you’re new to Single With Kids we’re sure you’ll have more questions! We’ve tried to cover all of these below, if you have any queries that aren’t answered below, please do email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Northumberland Beach Holiday for Single Parents
1. Do you provide transport?
We have families travelling from all over the UK so can’t provide transport but we do encourage car sharing. Please do post on our forum to see if anyone lives nearby.
2. I don’t know anyone…
You’re in the majority! Most of the families on the trip will never have met before – your coordinator will arrange get togethers and events to bring the group together. You may be strangers to begin with, you’ll end up leaving as friends. There is a buffet on the first night that is always a good icebreaker.
3. What is the board basis?
The Northumberland Beach holiday is self catering – there will be some group meals including a BBQ!
4. What is included in the price of the holiday?
The cost includes accommodation in shared rooms for 2 people or private rooms for 3 or 4 person families. Each room has two beds and one bunk and with ensuite shower facilities
The Northumberland Beach holiday will be accompanied by a Single With Kids coordinator who will organise group events and outings. These events are not obligatory, feel free to dip in and out as you choose.
5. How big will the group be?
This is a medium sized trip. The bunk barn will have around 10 families. There are also 7 private Wigwams who are on holiday at the same time!
6. What group activities will there be?
The proposed itinerary is open to discussion at the welcome buffet on the first night. There will be a spread of activities/ excursions that will cater for the ages of the group.
7. Are dogs allowed?
Unfortunately we don’t allow dogs on this holiday.
8. What do I bring for the welcome buffet on the first night?
Something that can be put on the table and can possibly used for the picnic the next day.
9. Do the doors have locks?
There is a lock to the front door and each room has its own key
10. What is a shared room?
A shared room is a room that is shared with another family. You will be with another mum/ dad and we try our best to match the children’s ages and sex.
1. Is bedding provided ?
No, you will need bedding – duvet and pillows (with covers) or a sleeping bag.
2. How big is the bunk barn?
The whole bunk barn at capacity can hold 32 people – 8 rooms with 4 beds in each. Each room has 2 single beds and a bunk bed with ensuite facilities.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and communal sitting and dining room.
3. Is there parking outside the property?
There is car parking facilities that are in close proximity.
4. What other things do I need to bring?
You need bedding – duvet, pillow and covers or a sleeping bag.
Basic cleaning equipment is provided – you will need to bring washing up liquid, cleaning liquids (e.g. anti bac for the kitchen work tops), bin liners and tea towels.
Toilet roll – it is surprising how much you get through!!
Towels – beach and bath!
5. What is the check in/out times?
You can check in from 4 pm and check out is at 10 am on the day of departure.
6. Is there WiFi there?
Yes, there is free WiFi.

Springhill is a short walk from miles of empty beaches surrounded by country lanes making it perfect cycling and walking. The fishing village of Seahouses with its quirky harbour is nearby while a short drive away discovers the spellbinding charm of Lindisfarne Island, Alnwick, noted for its Garden and more castles than any other county in England.
1. Is there a beach near?
Yes, there are loads! Seahouses is the closes at a mile away.
2. What is the nearest train station?
This is in Chathill around 5 miles from the property. A taxi from here will cost approximately £10.00
3. Where is the nearest shop?
The nearest supermarket is in 4 minutes drive (2 miles) which is the Co-op in Seahouses.
