South Coast Resort

Back by popular demand !

Our south coast break really does offer the best of both worlds : A beautiful countryside setting with all the wildlife and adventures of the New Forest at your feet, and with glorious sandy beaches within walking distance.

The resort has a good mix of on site activities, and with private hot tubs to some of our lodges, there’s a good deal of relaxation for mum or dad  too!

There is so much to see and do in this extraordinary part of the world that you really will struggle to fit it all in – a fabulous resort for a single parents holiday! We’ll be staying at a resort is packed with fun family sports, entertainment and activities, and there are lots of attractions for all ages within easy reach. An ideal base, whether you want to relax, explore or have a more active holiday.

The location is well positioned for time in the countryside through to the fabulous Hampshire coast. The resort offers a massive 100 acres of parkland in which to roam, play and explore, and the New Forest with its deer spotting and pony watching is just a few miles away.

If you can drag the kids away from on-site activities, heated pools, tennis courts, football pitches and play areas – and yourself away from the adults spa and gym – you can head to the nearby coastal towns of Bournemouth, Weymouth or Swanage for a traditional seaside day out. For the little ones, Peppa Pig World is a short drive away, while teens can blow off some steam as they Go Ape at Moors Valley.

As with all of our Single With Kids’ holidays, the holiday will be hosted by a coordinator, who will arrange daily events and get togethers for the group.
*any entrance fees are NOT included*

Accommodation

We have a choice of charming superior and standard wooden lodges in this lovely holiday resort. Each lodge has 4 private bedrooms accommodating up to 8 people (1 x master double en-suite room and 3 x twins). All are within easy reach of the wide range of facilities and activities available on this spacious, family-friendly site.

All of our accommodation offer high quality features and finishes. There’s good size living space and comfortable beds in private rooms.  The Superior lodges also  boast outdoor decking with BBQ facilities and private outdoor hot tubs – perfect for soaking away the evenings after long, happy days spent with the kids. These outdoor spaces are also great for socialising and getting to know other members of the group.

All lodges have fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, TV and DVD players and ample internal space. The facilities on site include outdoor and heated indoor swimming pools, a gym and exclusive adults day spa, a bar and restaurant, lots of outdoor play areas and a full programme of entertainment and activities for all the family.

What’s included

The cost includes 3, 4 or 7 nights accommodation in private rooms. The trip will be accompanied by a Single With Kids coordinator who will coordinate events to bring the group together.

This is a self-catering holiday, so no meals will be provided. However, there are places to eat both on-site and in the local area, and we are lucky enough to be staying in accommodation with fully equipped kitchens. We may also be organising some communal meals to get the group together – full details will be provided nearer the event.

The price includes accommodation in lodges which have 4 bedrooms (1 x master double en-suite room and 3 x twins), each family has their private room with shared communal facilities – a much more fun and sociable experience than sitting alone in your lodge when the kids are in bed!

Lodges are available with or without hot tub.

Please note – each bedroom holds 2 people, families with 2 or 4 children would need to book 2 or 3 rooms.

Things to Do

An itinerary will be provided for the week which will combine a mix of events on site with local attractions.  The area is bursting with fun family activities, starting with the kids entertainment, play areas, pool, gym and spa on site. Head in one direction and you’ll find stunning beaches at Milford-on-Sea. Head in the other and you’ll soon lose yourself in the walks, bike rides, open top bus tours, pony watching and deer spotting in the ancient and vast New Forest.

If you want traditional amusements and a great day out at the seaside, Bournemouth is worth a visit although the coastal towns of Swanage and Weymouth have lots to offer too. Learn all about the naval history of Portsmouth with a harbour boat tour  or take to the waves yourself at Lymington, a renowned sailing centre.

Little ones will go crazy for Paultons Park, the Home of Peppa Pig World (which also has new Jurassic World attractions ), while older kids and single parents can get their pulses racing at Go Ape at Moors Valley. If you fancy heading further afield, you can spot some rare red squirrels at Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.

Trip Size

This is a medium sized trip but with a definite ‘small and friendly’ feel to it due to the lodge accommodation. There is a maximum of 8 people to a lodge – a perfect way of starting your first adventures on a Single With Kids holiday.

Testimonials

Caroline and Son 10 - (South Coast Resort)

" My 10 year old son had a great time and that was what I had been hoping for so we were both happy. Can't believe it took me so long to pluck up the courage to come on a single with kids holiday. We will definitely be booking again. "

Jamie and Madii - (South Coast Resort)

" We had a lovely holiday with ‘Single with Kids’ near the New Forest. Stayed in a pastel coloured lodge with own sauna, hot tub and bbq. What a lovely group of people and even the children were good! Made new friends, as did Madii. Just a shame I’ve come home with a throat and chest infection so have spent today in bed! At least I was able to, and can have a rest after my holiday! A big thank you to Sarah who did a great job. X "

Rob and Jack - (Pembroke)

" It was one of the best holidays I have ever had, and Jack has already asked me to take him again. Pembroke/Stackpole is a terrific destination with loads to do in the surrounding areas, but everyone is great, and really friendly. The kids all play well together. A lovely bunch of adults and children! "

Penny, Lily (11), Harry (9) and Grace (5) - (Summer in the Fort)

" After looking the SWK holidays website for over a year, I finally booked a break with my kids. Fort Belan over the summer has been great. Our accommodation consisted of two interlinked twin rooms which worked perfectly. I have 3 children, there were loads of activities for them to join in with, the highlight being the campfire on the beach "

Ann-Marie and son 5 - (Cornwall)

" My son thoroughly enjoyed himself. Playing with other children his age. He said "mum all the people we live with are our family." "

Ruth and Molly 5 - (Northumberland)

" So much to do, and a fabulous barn. The highlights? The days out – Alnwick and Lindisfarne boat trip. For my daughter, the day at the beach. So much to do, and a fabulous barn! We’ve already booked xmas at Hargate and really looking forward to it. We really loved the bunk barn option instead of camping "
