Easter in Sherwood

Acres of gorgeous green space, an enchanting forest to explore and a fun, relaxing couple of days in the company of a fantastic group of single parents and kids; get ready for our Sherwood Forest Easter break!

We’re heading to Nottinghamshire for our Easter 2017 single parents holiday, in a fabulous location right on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Step outside the front door and straight into over 450 acres of sun-dappled green forest, where the kids can run free and blow off some steam while you drink in the fresh air and stunning scenery. It’s the perfect place to really get away from it all, catch up with old friends and make some brand new ones.

You can be as active or as chilled out as you like on this break, as there’s lots of activities and days out to enjoy for adults and children of all ages, but you’ll also have an amazing time just hanging out with the group and strolling through the beautiful forest. Sherwood Forest is known for its lovely walking routes, as well as cycle trails for families and cyclists of all abilities.

There’s the chance to Go Ape, hop on a ride or two at the local children’s funfair, make friends with some cute and cuddly farm animals and of course – join in all the Easter fun and games that Single With Kids has planned for you!

Things to Do

The main attraction of this break is the 450 acres of enchanting Sherwood Forest that greets you on arrival at the accommodation, perfect for lazy afternoon strolls and letting the kids run wild, discover nature and perhaps even build a fort or two. The Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre and Major Oak Tree, the world-famous tree said to be the former shelter of Robin Hood, are also close-by, as is the children’s funfair.

Fancy a day out? Take your pick of a wide range of tempting options, from the adrenaline-fuelled Go Ape courses to the idyllic walks, scenery and wildlife of Clumber Park. Walkers and cyclers can fill their boots at Sherwood Pines Country Park, which has over 3,000 acres of tracks, trails and walking routes to explore, along with cycling for families, off-road riders and more.

A fantastic day out for single parents and kids of all ages is White Post Farm, where you can get up close with thousands of friendly animals, from chicks, rabbits and deer to cows, pigs, ponies and even llamas. Zoom around on go-karts, do a little shopping, picnic by the lake and perhaps catch a seasonal show.

If you simply want to get away from it all and take it easy, we’ve got that covered too. Our accommodation is in easy reach of several wonderful parks, where you can relax with the group and enjoy a picnic while your kids play and make new friends.
